Volunteer

Volunteers are crucial to the work of the foundation!

Hatfields and McCoys Foundation and Museum is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.  It depends on the volunteer efforts of the community to keep the Hatfield Homeplace, Feud Sites, and Museum operating.  There are many ways volunteers are needed.

We couldn’t exist without volunteers in a wide variety of important roles including:

  • Fundraising
  • Organizing and implementing community events
  • Archiving and preserving documents and historical objects
  • And many others

Contact the Society’s volunteer coordinator for more information about how you can get involved at info@HatfieldMcCoyFoundation.org or call (304) 896-1212. If you don’t see an area listed that you feel your gifts and talents could be used, we would love to hear from you.

Flexible hours are available, and training is provided.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

We are always needing help for social media posts, marketing flyers, maps, designs for new products, and museum display boards.

Grant Writing
Grants are a fundamental part of the foundation’s sustainability, and we are always in need of help writing grants and fundraising.

Children Programs
Museum programs for children as needed.

Genealogy
Data entry of genealogy information into the computer for research. Hours are up to the volunteer.

Garden
The Hatfield Homeplace is always in need of those who love to play in the garden tending to plants, weeding and general maintenance.

Building Maintenance
The oldest portion of the Hatfield Homeplace was built in 1890 and is always in need of minor repairs. If you are a handy man or woman and would like to help with painting and small repairs, we would love to have your help.
